Below take a peek at our construction and first session. So blessed to have finally built this in our home. Our final out of pocket cost ran between $9000-$10000. Worth. Every. Penny.

YOU DID IT!!!! NOW TIME FOR THE BUILD! STAY TUNED FOR PICTURES. WE HOPE TO BE FINISHED ON SEPT 4TH!!!!
ATTN:Thanks to all of the amazing people we know, and one very special carpenter friend....the cabin has been ordered! We hope for it to arrive around Labor Day!!!! We were able to build from scratch rather than ordering the premade one seen below and saved a lot of money. The one we are getting will be larger, at 6'x6'! All we still need to purchase is ventilation, piping to ventilate the salty air out of the house, insulation, and something to place at the bottom of the sauna door to seal it. Thank you all so much! Love, love, love!
Philip loves the Salt Room!
We have set a lofty goal for Philip this year! We are doing everything in our power to raise the money needed to buy Philip a personal salt cabin for our home. The price is $14,000 and we cannot do it alone. We are making many sacrifices now to save money, including getting rid of our nice van and the hefty monthly payment it carried, but we still need your help!
Every January, we take Philip to Florida where he does daily sessions in a salt room. The results are nothing short of amazing! He is like a new child while there. The results are so dramatic, that in fact, upon arriving home this year, he became sick and required antibiotics on our first day home!
This time while at the Salt Room, the owner approached me with a salt cabin that she is building. This would allow us to have a personal salt room in our home, for Philip to use EVERY day of his life! While a cure is coming for CF, any medication for Philip is looking like it will be 2020 before hitting the shelves. This date has changed for the worse many times. This medication also will not undo any lung damage. So, as a parent, it is my duty to keep him as healthy as possible and keep him alive. In addition to his regular therapies, this is the answer. Philip nebs hypertonic saline twice daily, however, we have researched and found that the dry salt in halotherapy (aka salt cabins) gets deeper into the bronchioles than wet saline can. Salt kills bacteria (he cultures staph) deep down, thins mucus dramatically, and reduces inflammation...all of which are deadly combinations to Cf patients.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and words cannot begin to express what this means to our family. God bless you all!

The walls and floor will be covered in Himalayan salt and a halogenerator will be installed in the wall that releases pharamaceutical grade sodium chloride micro particles into the air during the session.
*UPDATE- This is no longer the model we are purchasing. We will be using a bigger sauna shell and building from scratch. The salt will only be on the floor as we have since learned the resin on the walls can be considered toxic to lungs and not necessary in a salt room. Pics will follow of the real one once it is complete :-)
Below are some pictures of Philip over the last few years enjoying his salt room visits!
